Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has refused to compare between Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the aftermath of the club’s 3-1 triumph over Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round. The Belgium international has generally been a bench warmer under the guidance of Ole but he was handed a rare start at the Emirates where he grabbed the man of the match with a couple of assists.
Meanwhile, the triumph over the Gunners meant that United had won each of their eight matches under the stewardship of Ole and when asked about the same, Lukaku admitted that things are going well under the caretaker boss and he is optimistic that the club can finish in the top four while managing to secure some silverware, he added: “Solskjaer has just started his story here. I hope that all goes well. I just hope we finish in the top four and that we win a trophy.”
United’s season was on the downslide under ex-boss Mourinho and there was one stage where they were close to the drop zone in terms of points than league leaders Liverpool. However, they have managed to rectify the concern with Ole at the helm and they are now within three points off the top four compared to the 11-point deficit last month.
