Romelu Lukaku refuses to compare Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has refused to compare between Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the aftermath of the club’s 3-1 triumph over Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round. The Belgium international has generally been a bench warmer under the guidance of Ole but he was handed a rare start at the Emirates where he grabbed the man of the match with a couple of assists.

Speaking after the game, Lukaku was asked to compare the managerial qualities of Mourinho and Ole but he happened to restrict himself from doing so. He added that he has plenty of respect for the recently departed Mourinho, who brought him to Old Trafford in the first place, he said:“I’m not going to compare the two managers. I believe that Mourinho has done a lot for his club. He won trophies, so I have a lot of respect for him. He is the coach who signed me.”

Michael Owen heaps praise on Marcus Rashford after showing at Southampton

Former Liverpool and Manchester United star Michael Owen has heaped praise on the performance of Marcus Rashford following the Red Devils’ 2-2 Premier League at Southampton on Saturday. Jose Mourinho’s side experienced the worst start to the game after conceding two goals within the opening 20 minutes but they managed to level the scores before the break after a couple of assists from Rashford.

Speaking on BT Sport, Owen highlighted that Rashford was outstanding throughout the game and him conceding the free-kick for Cedric Soares’ goal could be termed as the sole negative from the match, he said: “I thought he’s been outstanding today. He made two mistakes for the free kick for Southampton. But he’s the one player, we spoke before the game about running, it’s very, very simple but in this day and age you have to run and run fast and be direct and make things happen. I think that Rashford by and large is the only player in the Manchester United team that does that. I thought Ashley Young had a good first half. But Rashford runs at players and it causes havoc, it changes the picture all the time.”

Manchester United legend expects decision on Jose Mourinho’s future

Manchester United legend-turned-pundit Rio Ferdinand has indicated that there should be some sort of discussions regarding Jose Mourinho’s future at Old Trafford following the club’s poor start to the league campaign. The Red Devils suffered their third defeat of the season against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon and this has already put them nine points behind the lead of the table.

As a result, the supporters have already voiced the concern regarding Mourinho’s position at the club and Ferdinand feels the hierarchy should not withstand the club’s woeful league run any longer, he said: “There will be conversations at the top level about the future of the manager and the squad. The basics are not being done and something has to be said. You can’t let a situation like this continue throughout the season – wars in the press, leaks, players on one side of the dressing room, Mourinho and his staff on the other. If that continues this will be one of the worst seasons in the club’s history.”

Paul Scholes blasts Jose Mourinho recent struggles with Manchester United

Manchester United has recently been snatching mediocre results after having tied with Burnley in their latest Premier League match and a few days after that losing against Fenerbahce in a Europa League encounter.

Jose Mourinho and his squad have alto sustained recent losses against Chelsea and Watford while only being able to draw with Stoke City and Liverpool.

A former Manchester United player, Paul Scholes has recently come out and voiced his thoughts about what is happening in Old Trafford and why the club where he used to perform in have been disappointing so much in these past few weeks.

‘’Manchester United were rattled really, they couldn’t handle it. For most of the game they Fenerbaahce bullied United. With the two centre-backs it looked like they were going to concede goals all day long.Great strike from Wayne, of course it was, but they huffed and puffed again like in the first half. Paul Scholes said as he talked about Manchester United’s defeat against Fenerbahce.

Paul Scholes continued on revealing his thoughts about Manchester United and he believes that they will continue to suffer for a few more years as he said: “We have had a painful three years. The next 18 months to two years could be very similar until this manager gets the team he wants’’

It’s very clear that Manchester United has been struggling with the entire squad of Jose Mourinho not being able to replicate their performances from the start of the season when they managed to secure successive triumphs over Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull City.

Out of the 4 opening Premier League matches of the season, ZlatanIbrahimovic was able to score 4 goals but he has failed to score another league goal since September 10 when Manchester United faced off with Manchester City.

When the main goal-scorer of your team has not been able to score a single league goal for your team in almost 1 month, this is a huge sign that something needs to change.

There will be changes at Manchester United when Jose Mourinho arrives

With the announcement that Jose Mourinho will be taking charge of Manchester United soon, we should expect plenty of changes happening at Old Trafford on and off the pitch.

Mourinho has a particular way of managing his team, and he is sure going to transform the way Manchester United look at the moment. Fans should be prepared for a busy summer at Old Trafford.

The first thing that he will want to sort out will be his team. Manchester United do need a recognized striker at the moment, and it is highly possible that Jose Mourinho might be going for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The latter is out of contract after having left Paris Saint-Germain and will be the kind of player that the Portuguese manager like. Indeed, he already managed Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan, and it is highly possible that they might be reunited again.

A decision will also have to be made about Ryan Giggs. The latter has been the assistant of Louis van Gaal, and it is unlikely that he will continue in the same role under Mourinho. He would feel that it was his destiny to take charge of Manchester United after the departure of Van Gaal and now that Mourinho might be taking over, it is tough to find Giggs staying. EVANS IMPRESSES AT WBA

In his short stay at West Bromwich Albion, Jonny Evans has managed to impress his manager with his attitude.

Evans, who is predominantly a centre half, has not shown hesitation in playing out of position whenever he has been asked to do so.

There have been games where he has had to play in the left because of the injuries and unavailability of the players and he has gleefully accepted that role.

Showering plaudits on him yesterday, Tony Pulis, the man in charge of West Brom, said, “Jonny is a fantastic personality. His career at United was a mixed bag. I thought he was a bit hard done by on certain occasions when he did fairly decently and still found himself out of the team. Hopefully, it’s not the case with him here at Hawthorns and he manages to be a lot more successful.”

“Attitude is vital at this level and Jonny is top class in that regard. He is a manager’s delight. You go to him and hand him any responsibility, he would take it for the sake of the team.”

“He was injured and had not trained properly ahead of the match the previous weekend. Still, I asked him to feature in a position which is not his preferred position and he was ready. That tells you something about the character of the man. He has no egos at all, a wonderful man to work alongside. ”

West Bromwich Albion is no. 13 in the Premier League 2015-16 at this point of time. They have secured 5 wins and 5 draws and have collected a total of 20 points.

They have to play their next match against Bournemouth. That match will kick off at 3 PM British Standard Time at Hawthorns the coming Saturday.
